The Doom Open Beta Has Been Announced!
The release of the new Doom title from creators Id Software is just around the corner on May 13th, and I couldn't be more excited to see what kind of gory mess awaits us all this time. In an effort to wet everyone's appetite, an open beta has been announced for next week starting April 15th. Bethesda Software, the game's publisher, has also announced the first DLC we receive will be free, and there will be three paid content packs available for $14.99 each as well after launch. A season pass will be offered too,as games tend to do these days, for a slightly reduced rate of $39.99 for everything.
The beta will be running from April 15th - 18th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and it will not require a code to join in on the fun. The beta will be based around the game's multiplayer and will allow players to try Team Deathmatch and Warpath modes on two available maps: Heatwave and Infernal.
The first of the three DLC packs is said to include the following:
- Three new maps
- One new weapon
- One new playable demon
- One new armor set
- One new piece of equipment
- New hack modules and taunts
- New customization colors and patterns
While we wait for next week though, try these bad boys on for size:
